that being said...

is that a clarinet???...lol..
wow ..whatever effect you have on the vocals..its kinda wavery..maybe cut back that effect a touch....i like the bouncy feel to it......i hate those midi or whatever synth sounds...sorry ..the playing is cool .
pretty sparse lyrically...

"kept us waiting just for fun" cool line..
i really like the bass sound you have here tho!!.

Jamal must've listened to this about two minutes before I did...

Well, I have to be honest and say I'm not crazy about the song itself. I like the guitar sound... The singing voice is kind of "Lou Reed" -ish. Which is fine by me.

Will try to listen to all of your other stuff over the weekend.

The song is definitely not for everyone.
It amazes me how everyone makes the Lou Reed comment about my singing. I'll take it though!
I tried to get Bing, Dean or Ella to sing it, they weren't available :(

yep common thing ..not used to your voice make it so low in the mix its damn near inaudible...then on top of that fucking PILE as much stuff on it as possible....hehehehe..man you should hear my first few songs...hell my LAST song for tht matter...:D...yeah just so we are clear i LIKED the synth parts just not the "sound"...for a first post i think its great!..

You always have to consider the source when I "review" a song. I'm an "old man" by HomeRec standards (41), and my roots are firmly grounded in a certain style of music ('60s & '70s pop). I do try to stay on top of the scene, somewhat. Recently picked up Beck's latest and Wilco's latest. But I draw the line at Marilyn Manson!

Looking forward to hearing the rest of your stuff. And I downloaded this one onto a cd so I can listen in the car tomorrow.

Beck and Wilco are excellent among the current crop.
When I first heard Odelay I thought, wow! that's what I've always wanted to do.

This is a really good song, really interesting stuff. One of the things that interests me about it is the way that although not everything's smack on the beat, the song doesn't suffer for it. If anything, it makes it work better.

You don't sound like Lou Reed.

Check out Lambchop if you haven't heard Lambchop, if you're interested in hearing pro stuff that's vaguely out in your quadrant. Lambchop's wonderful.

This one's really good too - really sweet piece of music. You got any more?

A friend has mentioned Lambchop to me several times, I guess it's time to check them out.

Everything was played real time on my song - except the guitar on the chorus was duplicated and the drums and congas are loops.
