Hi,

I want to get two songs onto a CD. These are my first songs, and this is my first time to try recording. I have Sonar 2 with the (internal) DXI synth, an Alesis synth, a Shure mic, an Aiwa stereo and finally GoldWave. With all this, and a bunch of cables, i cant figure out how to get(record) the Dxi drum tracks, the Alsesis sequences and my vocals all into one wave file.

(I have been able to pipe the alesis sonar tracks into goldwave thru the stereo - but it doesn't pick up the DXI audio tracks)

Is it possible to what I want to do?

Thanks very much
Layla

Assuming your 3 tracks are audio tracks, simply mix them down to a single stereo track. If some of these tracks are midi, you will need to convert them to audio before you can mixdown.

Thank you for the Voodoo!

My big problem had been that I was unable to get Sonar to record audio from the line in. GoldWave was recording it just fine. BUT I think you did some voodoo, cause a couple of tried *after* I read your reply -- it started recording.

Now I have a new problem that I will post back to the group.

Thanks so much for your help

Hey Layla, what's your sound card ? In SONAR (as most multi source recording apps) to switch the recording source, you have to select it in your Recording Control (Windows Mixer). Double click on the small speaker icon in your task bar, open the Play Control, Options --> Properties --> Recording. Select the source from Line In...

Hope it helps. ;)
