Hello everyone!

I have fisnished what I consider my first serious mixing. Until now, I'd only mixed nothing more than acoustic/vocals with bass and drum loops.
Now this time I got access to great tracks that came with Russ Long's DVD (check http://www.audioinstruction.com), pretty cool stuff!
Anyway, would any of you take a listen and let me know how I did? Here's the link:

Thanks a lot in advance!

Juan

Balances are nice. The overall mix sounds very brittle. It seems very compressed. The vocals and cymbals are very bright.

Nice singing.

Mix sounds fine to me. The overall song might be a little thinner/lighter. Or Pop. I think the choice is yours to either add a little warmth or keep it this polished. Sounds fine as is, to me.

So is this your songs or some random tracks you got on the Russ dude's dvd?

Thanks guys! I think I'll work on adding some warmth, it does sounds thin to me this morning. And yes, On his DVD, Russ recorded two songs, one (this one I mixed), tracked with the most expensive and best gear and microphones available (over $30,000 according to him) and then another one recorded only with SM57 and a Mackie mixer. Along with the DVD of the recordings, you get an extra DVD with all the audio tracks for both songs for you to import in your DAW and mix. It's just great!
