You probably dont have one since it is an old (scsi-2) interface. Its usually an add on card. SCSI is a whole new thread if you want to go that route

You want to make sure that read the manual carefully regarding that since it can either be to connect a extra drive to the recorder or to attach the recorder to a computer.

I do recall it being about connecting an external drive. I just assumed that the external drive would then be compatible with the computer. Are you saying that my computer also has to have the same SCSI port connection as on the recorder? In other words, there's no such thing as an SCSI to USB connection, or something of the likes?

It does specifically illustrate in the manual an external drive being connected to the SCSI port. The problem with the external drives on ebay is I can't look at the back and see what types of connections it has. I'm just asuming from Alchuck's post that the external hard drive would then link to the computer.

Yup, you will a scsi HD, cable, SCSI controller (PCI Card)

Nope. Especially for scsi 2

I would look for a used ADAT card since it is unlikely that you will find all the SCSI stuff for under a $100

...would you mind looking at this link to ebay and informing me if this or any of the other drives up for bid would work... As far as the SCSI drive goes, I would run the info from the recorder to the drive, and presumably run the drive to my USB port?

I've never seen a ZIP drive that has both SCSI and USB ports. Also note that ZIP disks can only hold a limited amount of data -- 100 to 250 MB, if I recall -- which, depending on how many tracks you are looking to transfer and how long they are, might be problematic.

Well thanks, you've all given me food for thought. Now I did see some SCSI drives with bigger hard drives, if I got one of those I would just need to get a card to plug into my computer that serves the purpose of offering a female end to plug into right? I just want to make sure I'm understanding this all before I go purchasing anything. thanks again.

Unfortunately soundcards with ADAT ports are pretty expensive. This is about the cheapest thing I could find in a quick search...

Emu 1212 has it and is $200. The sonorus ones usually go for under $100 on ebay
