Hey, Guys! i currently record with a sm58 for my "rap" songs, and i think its time for me to grab a condenser and feel the difference. im kind of on a low budget but i sort of narrowed it down to some options that i think would fit my perfernces.

Audio Technica At3035
Audito Technica At2020
Behringer b-1
Behringer b-2
Studio Project b1
Studio Projects c1
Oktava Mk319
Rode nt1a

if possible if i can hear voice samples from these mics, it would really help me pick out.
Also if i can snag a little bit more cash, maybe recommend me a good preamp for my setup.
Setup
audiophile 24/96, Behringer ub802.

thankz for your feeds.

While listening to samples is an intelligent idea, unfortunately it won't help you much. Everyone has a different sonic signature (frequency charateristics) with their voice. Always best to "sample" each one with your own voice.

Therefore, can you test any of these directly in person first?
(BTW I know this isn't what you want to hear!:))

What kind of $$$ limit for the pre, assuming the vocal mic is $200 or less?

Chris

thanks for information, i can test most of them, out but some microphones are not avaliable at the current store.

maybe around 100-300 preamp range.
