I've been looking at getting one of these 2 interfaces and was pretty much decided on the 828 - for the sole reason of 10 inputs vs. 8 for the firestation (firestation's preamp'd inputs take the place of 2 of the 8 ins if they are used; 828's preamp'd inputs can be used in addition to the 8ins)
then I open my email today and have a message from 8th street music - firestation on sale for $500 (w/free shipping to boot)!! I can't get the 828 for any less than 700-750. From everything that I've read about both of these units - they are pretty similar in features...
can anyone convince me not to go the firestation route? I have a PC - so the free version of audiodesk with the 828 is a non-factor.
