Actually, Firewire is an interface to connect your computer to other things, like a digital camera, or external hardrive etc.. It is faster than USB 1, so can transfer things like digital video or other large files much more quickly. Hopefully this helps answer that, as I assume you are looking at something that transfers via firewire.
