Have anyone tried this out yet? For me this sounds to incredible to be true? It actually turn the DM-24 into a souondcard.. and they claim to have drivers virtually any computer system.

Anyone?

(IF-FW/DM)

I was reading that on the Tascam's website as well... and i am REALLY interested, but did not find anything regarding drivers ( which of course one would need...)

Holy Moly!!!

This is too cool. I wonder how much it will cost. If I understand correctly it would mean I do not need my MOTU 2408 mk3. All it is for me is an interface. I only have 3xTDIF and a BNC cable connected to the motu. That would be great.

Anyone know where all the DM24 users went after tascam shut down the forums? I don't see many here.

Has anyone received the meter bridge offered as part of a rebate?

Thanks, RD

as far as I know, the price is supposed to be "under 500".

So much for the Distressor. This is #1 on my x-mas list.

You think they might develop this further? Like putting a pseudo mixer on it? They could sell plugins and mixermaps - kinda like the mixtreme.

OK I'm dreaming. But still...

This is perfect. My portable setup is starting to look cleaner everyday. :)

Sweet.

I think putting a pseudo mixer in it would be a bit too much to ask, since they would have to put processing power in the card. I mean, Tascam does not have any efx card for DM-24 either.

But, will you be able to route things directly (from aux send in computer) to the mixers efx, and so on... ? What if you use two of these cards?

This seems to me like Tascam is preparing a major upgrade (but don't take it for granted....)

I was in contact with the Tascam dealer here in Norway, and they told me that the card is not available before january/february next year. Anyone knows whether it´s supposed to be available earlier anywhere else?

I´m afraid we can´t sell our 2408´s quite yet.

D@mn,

That is pretty sweet. 24 ins/outs for the DM24.

Im still using my 900 buck 2408 MK1 from back in the day.

RD, I used to go to the TASCAM site but now that is is gone this is the only place I found so far. There must be others. I still have a DA78HR recorder but sold my DM-24 mixer. I just picked up a new Yamaha 01V96 and it is very sweet. Cost a bit more than the DM24 but I am much happer with the board. Has 4 effect processors and very smooth eq. No mixer automation which is one drawback but I had trouble with my DM24 getting the faders to behave. I need to buy a 16 card card to get 24 digital tracks but for now I just picked up a Tascam 8 track card on ebay for cheep.
