I have a firepod and have it working like it should when it comes to my recording setup. I've tried to set the default windows output to go through the firepood, so I can use my recording speakers for all my computer audio. I get the windows system sounds (beeps, warnings, mouse clicks) but I can't get any media to play through the firepod (Itunes, windows media, firefox, etc...)

Is there a windows setting I'm missing?

I have a usb headset for gaming. I tried unplugging it in case it was causing problems. But, it didn't seem to make a difference.

I run my firepod on my Mac and had a similar problem once. I had to turn up the iTunes volume :)

Are your media players volumes turned up?

That's not doing it, but I'm not getting the windows sounds any more either. Have to figure out how i got there before.

there is a WMP setting you can change. Tools>Options>Devices>Speakers>Select Firepod. Okay out of everything. Close down WMP and restart it again. See if that works.

I don't know anything about the firepos, but make sure it is setup for 44.1khz sample rate.

got it working.

don't know what I did different this time, but it's working :P

Sometimes if you only disable instead of uninstall your existing motherboard or whatever sound drivers windows can get confused and go back and forth between them. That's the problem I had with my firebox.
