Finishing up a song and transfering to CD

So tonight I finished mixing this song I've been working on and I just wondered if you all have any tips...

- I will first transfer all tracks from my MS16 to my Teac 3340 (stereo)
- I will make a transfer from the 3340 to a cd, or my MS16 to a CD
 
A high-quality soundcard that allows you to record at the best digital resolution possible is a big help. This should minimize the loss when transferring to digital. After it's captured at high resolution, you can use some basic mastering software to down-convert to CD quality. The trick is to tweak the levels and eq in such a way that the harm done to the sound is minimal. It can take alot of practice. If you're a real perfectionist, this gives you a chance to do things like remove hiss, etc... but all that processing should be done to the high-res file before converting.

I'm kind of curious about that, since you seemed to be saying you had already mixed it - did you mix it to a spare pair of tracks on the MS16 or something? Or do you mean that you're planning to archive the multitracks onto the 3340 two at a time...?
 
I mixed everything on the MS16 and mastered it to my 3340. If you want to call it mastered...
