I found the other half of my duo at www.communitymusician.com
actually, it was chicagomusician.com so it works like that.

What I did though, was approach someone who was't begging to collaborate. I basically pitched myself to a perfectly self-sustaining artist, told her we'd sound great together and she loved the idea. I think if you find someone in the classifieds, they probably need more help than they could possibly help you.

Also, I have one piece of completely obvious advice for you to keep in mind. find people who excel at your weakness and need help in your specialty. For me, I can play the guitar like a jazzy Neil Young. Unfortunately, I sing like him too. So I went out and found a pretty voice who doesn't excel at guitar. Now, we work great together.

2 cents.

its long slow and unreliable, but I think its the best you can do.

(Oh - I thought of something - are you looking for creative collaborators, or just people to play your music? cause if its the latter, just hire people n tell em what to play)
