Nature of Force
Hey guys... I think my voice is well enough now that other people can hear. I would like some advice on keeping pitch or changing tone. I'm still a teenager, so... ya know... My voice hasn't deepened all the way yet :o:o:o:o I know I'm a bit pitchy in some spots. My tone changes sometimes too... Keep in mind, this was recorded in about 5 minutes, so I didn't compress, EQ, pan, add any other effects at all.

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

EDIT : I'll post a new link tomorrow. I feel I can sing it better now.

Hey squibble - the first couple of lines have a word or two that are a little pitchy but the remainder is pretty much solid. The harmonies turned out really nice, pitch and blend. You have a good singing voice so keep it going. If you wanted a "flawless" rendition you could always do a few takes and comp the best pieces together. Today's computers make that pretty easy.
Keep up the good work... :D

Thanks a lot!

Yeah, a little pitchy here and there but you know what I hear more than anything ? The need for confidence when singing. I like your voice. Project it with confidence, keep striving to improve it, it's got good tone. Maybe I'm just an English fellow that likes American voices, but I'd have that voice do vocals for some of my stuff ! Honestly !

Well, that just boosted my confidence! haha, Thanks for the kind words.

Gotta agree ... it's only lacking confidence.

But remember -- confidence is not a light switch you can flick on when you need it. Confident musicianship only comes with practice, recording, listening critically, playing live whenever you can, more practice, more recording, and more listening. Sing every day, and try to get better every time you sing.

Here's some advice a friend gave me a long time ago. Start by recording yourself. You've already done that, so good. Don't throw out the recording. Practice hard for a year, then and record the exact same demo again.

Once you've recorded yourself again play the old one, then the new one, A versus B. You'll be amazed at how much better -- and confident -- you sound.

Keep it up. You've got plenty of natural ability.

I'm going through the same exact thing. For the first time, in my track I'm working on, I have created them to have vocals in front. I haven't recorded vocals, I can only go by learning through others right now. I'm a very quiet guy in general and am rather scared to get as loud as I need to in order to sing. I'm hoping that reverb is my best friend lol. I'm kind of excited/nervous to see how it turns out, so we r in the sane boat lol

Don't worry about singing. I don't see people are so ashamed of singing. Just belt that shit out and have fun with it.
