I've got a question about the year mine was made, the Serial Number starts with the letters C and R before going into the 6 numbers. I looked it up on Fender's website, The first letter is the year, second letter is the month, R isn't listed for a month and C points me in the direction to say it's a 1992, but I think that amp is newer than that. Could anyone tell me what year it is? I'm looking to buy a cover for it, and the only cover GC sells is for '93s and '01s.

Aren't all Super Reverb's the same size? If not, you could take your amp in to be sure, or just get the one that seems most likely to fit and use the GC return policy if it doesn't fit. Or measure your amp and check the specs for the two covers. All of those are easier than figuring out exactly when your amp was made from the chassis serial number.

Do what I did, and go the trailer trash route. :D

I made a cover for my AC30 out of that heavy-duty green/silver tarp material. I measured the amp, cut the pieces to fit, and taped it up and reinforced it with Gorilla gaffer's tape. It even has reinforced cutouts for the handles.

It's not entirely ugly, works just like it should, and cost all of, like, 10 bucks. :)

OR ..... you can go to a local upholstery shop that does automobile seats and have one made out of heavier better stuff than the cheap thin Fender covers.

Personally, and I learned this from Jimmy Eppard (google him), I just make a slip cover out of cardboard and duct tape.
It's more protective than a soft cover but not heavy like a usual hard cover plus if something tears it you just tape on more cardboard.
Also, you can decorate the shit out of it.
I have one completely covered in bumper stickers and another painted to look like some sort of psychedelic nightmare!
If you really want it to be durable you can throw some clear lacquer on it and the tape won't peel down the road.
:)

Ooh! Cardboard!

I may have to do a cardboard retrofit to the interior of my poly tarp cover. :D

it works really good man ..... way more protection.

Only thing is ..... the cover doesn't fold up like a soft cover does.
So you have this amp sized box to put somewhere.
But I find it worth the hassle.

Cardboard and duct tape, hmm, I think I just discovered some new gig attire.

I guess I could make one. In honesty though, I'm really more interested in finding out when the amp was made. Because why the HELL are the '93 and '01 version of Super Reverb the same and not the years before, in between or after?
