hello. i've noticed the fender brand mustang strings are .95...which seems too light to me. so i moved up to .100 (GHS), which i liked...but now i'm wondering if .105 is OK...

i like the sound of heavier bass strings, so i want to move up to a .105, but i'm hesitant to put them on my mustang when fender seems to imply that using .95 is the thing to do...any suggestions? is .105 too heavy for a mustang bass?

thanks!

The nut slots may be too small for the larger string diameter. This will lead to playability and intonation problems in the lower frets. I don't think the increased string tension would be a big deal, after a truss rod adjustment.
