Ok, i'm looking at getting a control surface as i mentioned in a previous post, but i need to know if (or how to find out if) CoolEdit 2.0 supports parameter feedback at all (to relay info back to the control surface so the motorized faders work on any control surface). I have looked in the help files of CEP 2.0 but can't find any info so i'm assuming it dosen't. I've asked in various control surface forums, but no-one seems to know whether the software CEP supports it. I'll be using the CS through a USB, not MIDI.

Thanks

Lee

As far as I know, neither CEP nor Adobe Audition support motorized faders. I have seen other threads on the issue. I have a Tascam US428, which is NOT motorized. Someday when I grow up maybe Adobe will implement that.

Motorized do in fact work. I use a Tascam 1884. When I move the hardware fader it moves on the screen and vice versa. So audition is sending info back to the control surface.

The thing thats not in Audition yet is Automation. This means you cant say at the end of a song fade down certain tracks with the hardware fader. You have to manually draw in the volume envelopes.

So after all that I guess you could say that in the truest sense that it's not really motorized faders but they still jump to position when opening a session and adjusting volume on the screen

Cool, sounds promising. So it does work in AA, i'll have to take a gamble as i only own CEP 2.0, and i don't know whether there's much difference. If it doesn't work i guess i could probably look at dipping into my shallow pockets for an upgrade!

I'm pretty sure Mackie Control control surface should be supported from CEP v2 and up
