Greetings, all.

I've got a new song up on mp3.com, and I'd really be interested in hearing what you think of the arrangement and recording quality. I'm pretty proud of it (I only have one mic), but I'm too close to the song to really judge it objectively.

The song is called 'Feel' and it is at:

Cheers!

great song

I noticed you said you have one mic. THats an awesome drum sound you have for one mic??? what kind of mic is it and where did you place it in what kind of room? Id love the info, thanks. great song

A solid venture into loped teaseing(sp?) of a build without really jumping off the cliff. I really like the fit of the vocal on this song. All else was strong but not cutting. The inro and entire tune put an adrenal bomb in the pit of my "musical" stomach that has yet to explode. I am left with a serious lunker warhead and pending stagnance. If that is what you wanted then, BINGO!!!
I dig the vocals and instrumentation. Perhaps a revamp of the mix with clarity in mind would help. This is no build, it is a whore without a hole.(no disrepect meant, just a discription of a feeling.)

you have a great sense of production...good work...keep it up. nice bass sound. ditch the beatle similarities.

A very slick recording, PR. Your discription of the song, "This song starts kind of quiet and funky but just builds and builds to a shattering climax. Kind of a mix between an epic Queen song from the 70's and something off the Beatles' White Album. Deep lyrics, too!" is on the mark.

I didn't like the tinny drum sound at first but it kinda grew on me and the little feedback loop shortly after the beginning of the tune was a nice touch.

Overall, 1 good recording IMHO! Very slick, dude!

 like your other tunes I've heard so far, I like it. The Beatles/next generation Lennonish influence can obviously not be helped......go with it. Where's the 'She's So Heavy' type tunes:D

great job!

Cool Tune,

Really great bass sound, how did you record it?

The production and singing were top notch.

I think you need a stronger more defined hook though.
Something that sticks!

You know, makes everybody walk around all day humming it,till they can get to the store and buy it!

Great Stuff,
Best to you,
Pete

Thanks to all of you!

Thanks to all of you who so kindly listened to 'Feel' and gave me feedback.

It is a thrill to put my songs in front of people who listen to them as intently as they were created. Your input is appreciated.

Here are some detail you guys asked about:
- Bass was direct through Tube MP into a PreSonus Blue Max compressor.
- Drums were recorded with one Rodent place over my right shoulder, pointed directly at the kick.
- Lots of E-Bow on this one, too.

Sounds cool. Decent song. Good vocal sound. I would bring the percussion up a little and try to thicken up some of the parts a little bit but overall a good recording.
