I would like to get some feedback on these lyrics. I've started to write the music but it's not done yet. All I know is that it's in the key of G so far (lol) and it'll probably be a slower tempo tune.....Thanks

Friends

Verse 1
Seems so long ago, we first walked along this road
Wondering to ourselves what was it all about
Trying to find our way, we were strangers to this place
Didn’t know too much ‘bout what was going on

Then you looked my way, and your smile it gave me strength
And I was glad someone like you had come around
And I realized a friend was what I’d found

Verse 2
We had our share of days, things just didn’t go our way
Couldn’t understand cause it was all so new
Didn’t last too long, you always kept me strong
We’d work it out together always make it through

Took adversity, turned it into victory
You were there for me and I was there for you
And I realized that’s what a friend will do

Bridge
Remembering the time we’ve been together
With photographs and pictures in my mind
I’ll keep these memories with me forever
Even though we have to leave this all behind

Verse 3
Now my friend we find, we’re at a crossroad in our lives
We’re leaving this behind it’s on to something new
We might drift apart but you’re always in my heart
It’s time to celebrate and raise a glass or two

Yes and here today, there’s so much I want to say
Just remember all the good times we’ve been through
Cause there’s no better friends than me and you

I dig 'em....I like the fact that they could be directed towards a man or a woman. ...they have a bittersweet quality to them.

Canadian prenouncation-rhyme...gotta love it :D

The lyrics are good. They look like they would need some good backing instruments behind them, and a fairly powerful voice. But the words sound like their coming stright from you, which is good!

And i agree with Brandrum about how they can be directed towards a man or woman, which was well done.

It's got kind of a Stevie Ray Vaughan "Life by The Drop" feel to it. I like it.
