Hi kids. Again this is aimed for the film/TV market. I was reading that most music supervisors don't want solos, so I didn't really do 1, even though I wanted to.

Feedback of any kind appreciated.

Thank you!

The levels seem ok. Tones are a subjective thing, but they don't seem out of whack or anything. Are the acoustics DI'd? The mix seems like it's missing some midrange, but it could just be that I'm used to hearing a vocal.

Be sure to check it in mono if you haven't.

Nice job man.

Thanks Chris. I haven't checked it in mono - what would I be looking for?

Just making sure the relative levels don't change drastically...you've got some stuff panned out pretty wide, and it sounds fine in stereo, and it'll probably sound fine in mono - but sometimes when I've done stuff that gets played out of a single mono speaker, the rhythm guitars get a little louder than they should. Stereo effects can get a bit weird (and loud) too, or sometimes disappear entirely. Obviously, it won't sound the same in mono (if it does, then it wasn't stereo enough, lol)...but if you're aiming for TV/Video/Film, assume playback on a 1" speaker coming out of the center.

If those acoustics were DI'd, that's a good direct signal.

Alrighty - thanks for that - I'll have a listen in mono. That's a really good idea.

The acoustics were mic'd (cheapy Apex condenser and a Gibson J30).

Nice.. I enjoyed it. I go with what Chris said, he knows that stuff good.
I like the intensity in the groove after the intro. There`s some deep harmonics in the hook hinge chords I'd be wanting to listen to on tiny speakers to see if they get lost.

Nice, repetative without getting boring. Oh, and everything Chris said....

Thanks fellas. That's the goal (I think?) with TV stuff - repetitive without getting boring. Linear maybe?

Thanks for listening.

Merry Christmas!

Would you guys add some midrange to the stereo mix or go into the tracks and add some to individual instruments?

Hey guys - I added some midrange to the mix as per Chris Harris's adice. It seemed to add some sparkle.

Cheers!
