This is my favorite cover I have done so far. It is a song called new hampshire off of John Linnell's (of They might be giants) solo album State Songs. It was one of the more underrated songs on there that linnell composed on a band organ. You know, the kind from fair grounds that has a bunch of instruments on it played with a player piano style paper roll? Anyway, here is my cover. I am pretty proud of it.

It may be a solo work but it drips TMBGness doesn't it?
His melodic sense is directly tied to what TMBG is all about.
Nice cover - nice selection of material.
Your voice suits the song very well.
THe backing could use just a little brightness.
My fave TMBG song? A toss up between racist Friend & Birdcage.

It does song a lot like tmbg, solo or not. You are right. Thanks for the comments. Racist friend is a great one. I really love the album they put out not too long ago. (The else) My favorite TMBG song would be also a tossup between two. A self called nowhere, and Now is strange.

Anybody else have any opinions on this? Come on. This took me a really long time.

Sounds pretty awesome. Organ sounds fantastic. Love the build up near the end.

Only nit I have is the vocal sibilance reacts badly with the reverb in some spots. This is really nitpicking though, it sounds pretty damn good as-is.

Typing as I listen....

That organ has a lot of percussiveness ? and tone to it. Very classic there.
When you get into the stronger vocals there seems to be some compression but it is pretty smooth. Either you have the settings right or you're mic technique is really good ;) I agree with the previous comment on the very occasional sibilance (a ch or two). I also agree you voice suits this well....nice job....
