Favorite Pedals? *Need some help

I'm working on becoming an online guitar equipment distributer. This is going to require a huge investment of time and finances. I'm a college student and am really doing this more for the experience than the money, and to provide boutique effects to the guitar community.

Anyway, before I embark on this business venture, I need to know what pedals to market and if anyone would even be interested in ordering from this site. I'm planning on setting the prices as low as I can while covering costs, and as I said, am really doing this to provide people a more concise source for purchasing quality effects.
 
I should think that's a pretty crowded field these days, and just the interest alone from carrying all that inventory on hand would take a major bite out of whatever slim profit margin exists in such a venture.

Besides that, the only way to get the deepest discounts from the manufacturers is to buy in mass quanities, like Guitar Center and Musicians friend do. They have BIG $$$ behind them.

Ever think about getting a We Grow franchise??? That's gonna be the next big thing.
 
How are you going to get musicians to even find your site?
Will you have audio samples of the pedals using a large variety of guitars and amps?
Where are you going to get your inventory?
How are you going to finance this deal?
Why bother - why not use eBay with a bazillion shoppers at your fingertips? Sure the fees are there but they exist regardless in the retail world.
Unless you produce a new exciting innovative product you're just another reseller. And I need a reason to go to your site and not Guitar World.
 
I'd have to agree in that I don't see a huge amount of merit in this model - if you're going to trim the margins right back, you'd be better off selling the standard bulk kit. People will always pay a premium for the boutique kit, they're essentially a Veblen good when you think about it. When I first started collecting pedals about five years ago, the 'bay didn't represent stellar value when it came to new kit by the mass manufacturers. If you can flip a Boss DD7 for $99, then I'll bite.
