My cheap-a set up, works ok for me. ADK a51 V into a VTB-1. I am saving though!!!!
Has anyone had an ART MP studio, the cheap 30 dollar one? I was wondering if replacing the tubes would be hard, I'm planning on buying three maybe to juice up my toms, throw some groove tubes on there.
It's pretty easy, although you have to take the knobs off. I use mine as a DI for bass too.Haha i know i started this thread but I need to get off topic for a second too.

I used an NTK through a DMP2 for a long time. I have a SA 2BA-221 that I use now and an ACMP-73 on order from China. LOL

The DMP-2 is in an M-Audio Omni Studio. Check out some of my songs:I love an inexpensive piece of gear as much as the next guy but do you really get a good sound out of the DMP2? I got an NT1000 so its still rodes which can be semi comparable.
Oh and is it the Nady Box or the M-Audio?
as guitar zero saidHaha i know i started this thread but I need to get off topic for a second too.

When you guys all say SM7.... do you mean the SM7B ?

No. The SM7b is the currently available version. Previous versions were the SM7 (which is what I have) and the SM7a. Minor differences in shielding and the clamp - they all sound the same though.
No one had mentioned the Shure condensers yet, but I really like the KSM-27 run through my Focusrite Platinum pre for vocal tracks.
Did you compare that 27 to any of its big brothers?
I listened to the KSM-32, but it wasn't the right fit for me. Might have something to do with the smaller capsule. Don't get me wrong; it's a great mic, but wasn't what I was looking for. The 44 sounded VERY similar to the 27, but with more pattern options, which I didn't need.
