Hello people

The time has come to sell my much loved T246. It#s not exactly in mint condition and not wanting to sell dodgy goods I'd like to fix it so hence this post.

When I got this recorder, track 3 input wouldn't work and it's been like that ever since. I mean i can use track three to record by using the input from another track that is no problem but anyway i'd like to sort this out before it changes hands.

Can anyone give me some advice? is this a common problem? are there any tests i can do to find out what the fault might be?

I appreciate any help as I am not the most technically minded person around.

peace, barclay

Assuming no user error here I would surmise you have an internal electrical problem with the mixer section on track three which no one here would be able to talk you through repairing over the Internet.

You best bet is to acquire a written estimate from a qualified TASCAM service facility and go from there to decide if it's worth it to fix. Most 246's sell on ebay for around 250 bucks and if your repair nears that figure, it's not really worth fixing and best to sell it "as is" with the stated problem made known to the potential buyers.

Cheers! :)
