Fast Track Pro + ProTools MP = noisy input

I use to monitor (headphones) the Fast Track output signal while recording. I´m new with ProTools... something seems to be very wrong, ´cause exactly after i set the channel to 'rec', the sound becomes delayed and sometimes even distorted. XP service pack 2 and the m-audio drives are updated. What am I doing wrong???? Thanks.

The delay is an easy fix.


Go to setup ---> playback engine and turn the H/W buffer size down.


As for the distortion/noise you referred to, you're going to need to track down where it comes from...
