Farty mix. Please help.

The tracking on this mix is horrible, and i'm mostly to blame. I suddenly got way worse at recording guitar. The drummer did have an awful kit and I tried to get him to play the hi hat quieter but it was "the way he played" so I ended up having to mic the overheads to counteract that, got a crappy sound on those as well as way too much bleed in the snare track.

The mix feels very awful. It feels like it's lacking, and I am frustrated. I can't track or mix worth a damn. At least help identify some things I could do to make the MIX as good as it can be. Thank you, I'm starving.

Oh, and I know the vocals are very essy, I will deal with that before it's actually done.

Well, it sounds pretty good to me. In some parts the the drums are very loud...

But nice tune!

don't be so hard on yourself : this is a very decent mix! balance, stereo image, placement : everything seems ok.
the drums? i don't hear any apparent issues.
i've heard a lot worse believe me - this sounds pretty pro.

The drums have no depth, which seems to be something that tends to happen(maybe just with my room/equipment) when the drummer plays way too loud on the brass. Along with the cymbals themselves not sounding good(the ride was cracked in a circle all the way around).

The guitars are muddy.They peak at about 1.5khz which is around where the piano has a resonance. Most guitars I seem to like have a peak at 2.5ish.

I don't have any major problems with the bass or vocals. Piano sound sucks but I can't fix how his digital piano sounds, really.

It's a great song but I feel like I'm ruining it with engineering flubs. The other songs they recorded without piano sound a lot better. And the songs I did with them about a year ago sound a lot better than anything now.
