Fake drums are sounding very real

"Manowar uses more power than that just for the drum monitors." LOL
That's why they are so far ahead of the pack with the electronics. The stage volume is so loud, mics would feed back instantly. There would be no chance for gates to work.

I must say there have been numerous occasions where DKFHS has completely fooled me. It's getting that good, with careful programming.

I'm getting ready to move into a nicer house, and am looking at my options for the studio side of things.

I could purchase a modular drum booth for 18k, and keep trucking along.

Or I could buy DKFHS for $300 and get better sounds than I can get with my kit (a nice kit, btw).

I really like the acoustic drums, but I have to ask myself if it's just my ego causing me to spend so much money to have them...

Your thoughts?

seriously drum modules are amazing now. I agree 100%. I just did a track with the Dm5. I set up a trigger to the kick, an have a house snare that I stuffed with blankets and put a snare trigger on it, and used that drumagog program for the toms and it sounded amazing. I'd like to have use the dm5 for the toms as well but unfortunately i need $70 for each trigger :[ lol so i have to wait a little while until I can get that.

Triggering is really becoming very good.

...

still love my d6 kick mic though :D

All you have to do is route the audio into the trigger input of the DM5. There is nothing special about a drum trigger, it just creates a spike of audio. Routing the audio of a mic'd signal to the trigger inputs will trigger the sounds. It just won't be as free from bleed.

a customer recently sent us this.. its the preset of the Led Zeppelin kit in our new collection.. pretty real if you ask me:
