Ok... I will first off say hello and greetings to everyone on this forum.
Next I will say that Ive been playing guitar, bass, drums and singing for 15 years or more each. Ive been in several bands over the years.
I have been recording at home with various methods for about the same amount of time, Ive always had a fostex 4-track or computer recording set up of some kind kicking around.
About 2 years ago or so I ran into a writer's block and i got a new computer, I just didnt care enough about music at the time to install all of my audio software and then my now ex threw out all of my audio software when we split so I am having to get started from scratch.
I have a Presonus firepod, a Line 6 pod pro, a behringer bass v-amp, some great mics and some great amps, drums and guitars, equipment isnt really my problem. Its software.
If someone has a moment could they give me a good idea as to a good set up software wise? I am looking for recording software that can accommodate Drum kit from hell superior, Im looking for some sort of mastering software, perhaps a sequencer program to run wav clips through and anything else that anyone could recommend.
I have my eyes on Sonar or Reaper but Im used to Cubase, is there a HUGE difference in the way that these programs operate?
Thanks everyone!
