Is there anyway to do a fade effect using cubasis. A few of my tracks sound like they are getting cut off right at the end, and I would like to fix that with a fade :D

Highlight what you want faded, right click, select fade out.

I use Cubasis, adn I don't think it has that feature. I take the mixdown file and open it in Wavelab Lite. It has the fade function.

My bad .... I was thinking of Nuendo. It has the fade handles that allow you to draw fades on the timeline (volume envelopes).
I don't have Cubasis, just thought it may be similar.
You could use a wave editor to do fades (volume envelopes). Sound Forge or Wave Lab would be my first choice. Although Audacity can also do fades for free.

I don't use cubasis either, but this should work the same. For a simple fade, go to the end of an audio track. Put your mouse over the top right hand corner of the audio track and your pointer should turn into two arrows pointing left and right ( <--> ) . Click and hold down your mouse button and drag to the left, you should see a slantstart to go from the bottom and end of the audio to where you are dragging your mouse. That is your fade line. Drag it further in for a longer fade, or keep it short for a quicker one.

This should work, I would be really suprised if cubasis didn't have this feature.

Let us know if it works.

Let me get this straight. You’re supposed to point at to the end of your track, and your mouse pointer should change from an arrow to sizing handles? If so, this is not working for me in cubasis. When I right click it doesn't give me a fade option. I can choose from 8 symbols, an "X", an eraser, a speaker, a pencil, a scissor, a marker, a magnifying glass, and an arrow pointer.

Well, I was hoping it would....in Cubase, if you put your pointer in the top right hand corner of the end of an audio clip, there is a little triangle in the corner and when your pointer goes over it, it turns your icon into the arrows ointing left and right and that is a quick fade option. Alternatively, we can draw more complex fades, but I don't know if that option would be available in Cubasis.

If your not seeing what I'm talking about in Cubasis, I suggest searching on "fade" in your cubasis documentation. I'm sure there is a quick answer there.

Cubasis used to come bundled with Wavelab lite that had the editing features you need. The only option that you have I believe with cubasis alone is to either export the mix to a similar program or use the automation when mixing to provide your own fade out.

I'll have you know that I have a legit version of cubasis 4 vts.

Then you have the manual and the reference point right? So no problem. Use the automation to pull the faders down at the end of your song and you'll have your fade out.

Wavelab should be bundled with Cubasis. Check your discs again.

Morningstar thanks for that reference. Things are working beautifully now.
