I left a comment on the YouTube post.

I enjoyed the video clip . . . you have a good flair for editing. I liked the mixture of stills and clips. The vanishing girl on the swing was freaky . . . and I commented on Youtube that I think it might have had greater effect if you had just done it the once.

The song was okay, but the vocals sounded strange. I could hear them clearly enough, but there was a character to them that bugged me . . . a kind of muffled sound. However, it may be an artificat of video rendering.

Ray, you're really getting into video production, aren't you? ;):)
This is splendid work! Can't imagine how much time it takes you to finish someting like this......
Your music has a sound of its own, it's really original. Only thing in the mix, like Gecko said, is the voice. It sounds too muffled. It's hard to make the lyrics out sometimes and that's a shame because this is really expressive. Otherwise, really good!

Happy Sunday Ray! Another great video... It must take quite a while to find all the clips and stills and put them all together. Good ideas - they all follow the story of the song. Tell Kim she looks very artistic....

Gecko,
thanks for the Utub comment. I was in two minds about the disappearing girl - worried that people might miss it mostly - that segment is from a Child Protection ad from Vic. The mix is as was finally ok'd in the clinic but it has suffered from the FLV conversion.
joeym,
I couldn't play any instruments yesterday as the missus was asleep, crook all day so I decided to muck about with a vid. on my laptop whilst watching the cricket. I downloaded the vids from Utub and the clips from gargle image searches - took about 90min to do all up. The editing was hampered by my comp freezing a few times - had to start from scratch thrice. The assemblage took 3 hrs I suppose - once I learnt to save every 5 mins things went smoother. Not too long a process and a good way to fill in when the cricket gets slow.
Ido,
Thanks mate. Kim wasn't happy with her images - I sprung her on the couch after she'd bee napping. She was OK about me using them as I wrote the song for her. Happy weekend to you too. Much harder to find images for this topic - I tried to be very literal to make it easier and evenso I was scratchin'.

Hi Ray, nice selection on the clips, although to me they seemed to change to much at times, I mean, maybe it would be cool with a longer clip , or picture with a slower transition, to place the focus on the music more. Vocals did sound a little muffleled as compared to how I remember the song posted here awhile ago, but I think that is Youtube?
It's funny you mentioned the PC lockups while doing this, as I suffer the same thing when putting video together...
It sure is fun to add this medium to the music, I really enjoy watching what you come up with!

Cool...I enjoyed the anime brain diagram and the flickering purple flower in particular. I thought the pacing was pretty good but maybe rushed at times. Like others, I found the vocals to be oddly muffled...not as I remember from hearing this in the clinic. Cool stuff man!

AhHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I need to go down stairs and record some music quickly.
In the interim & knocked off another vid - this time I tried to apply some of the critiques from your good folk. less jump more flow (though there's a slittle section of fast changes).
SORRY!

I like that Sandpaper Castles, that was cool. I like those old footage shots of the crowd and the horses and carts. The scene changes that work best imo are the ones that change 'on the beat' which they mostly seemed to do in this one. I don't know what utub does to audio, but it's absolutely murdered any sounds I've ever uploaded there. However the sound on this was surprisingly good.Cool tune too. Who's doing the vocals?

Bulls Hit - if you add &fmt=18 to the end of the link it'll play closer to your uploaded quality rather than the uber compressed level which can mean stereo rather than unintended mono etc. It'll work for most clips so next time you're looking at something on there type the thing at the end of the address in the address bar & hit go - it'll come back better qual.
If you use Keepvid to "borrow" clips you get the option of downloading the lower fi FLV version or the higher fi MP4 version.
The vocalist is my former 'cello teacher. She's about 28 years younger than me & with me being very lazy I'd set up projects to do that included 'cello rather than spending my lesson time doing scales.
