What would be the one regret I will have down the road if I were to by Logic Express instead of Logic Pro? Is it a $200 regret? And can't I upgrade for about the same price if the regret is a serious one?

Perhaps the reverb 'space designer', I use Express and was attracted by the price; as I wanted to save to buy other plugins. I am not a big 'verb person so the apple platinum does the job very nicely. Logic Pro users might have a better idea as I am starting in deficit.

I already had FCP and some GB Jam packs so had a lot of the bundle anyway - not Mainstage thoguh so can't comment? With Pro you pay for a lot of Mac content and what every style you go for, I think too much adherence to one 'sample provider' doesn't serve you.

I like the compressor and EQ as they are really transparent and you get them with Express, along with a great deal of other plugs - VFM: Express has to be the best DAW out there.

There shouldn't be any regret because you can always upgrade
for $300 to logic studio if you want more goodies.

Logic Express 9 is actually the same as Logic Pro 9 - without the following features:
- DAE/TDM support
- DAP (distributed audio processing with Logic Node)
- Surround
- EVP88
- EVB3
- EVD6
- Sculpture
- Space Designer
- Delay Designer
- Linear Phase EQ
- Match EQ
- Multipressor (there is only the 'Preset Multipressor' as in LE7/8)

Wow. Those are pretty significant synths to lose. The Rhodes and B3's in particular. Hopefully there are comparable synths to make up for those ones, or useful plug-ins that could emulate them. Anyhow, I forgot I had posted this months and months ago and got on here with a very similar question about Cubase Essential vs. Studio. I will be running Essential on my PC, and, maybe Express on my Intel Macbook Pro. The live instruments will be recorded onto the Mac since it is my only analog interface. I have a Presonus with firewire, PC does not have firewire. I was considering running Cubase on both systems, but I've heard some disappointing reviews with it running on the Mac. I have been trying to use Studio One Artist, and I have not liked it. No VST support. That closed the deal for me. I have uninstalled it from my computer and I'm back at the drawing board. Thanks for the feedback. Back to Guitar Center.
