Exporting individual tracks

Unpossible!
I want to be able to export each track from between the markers (like you do for a mix), but I want all the tracks to export individually. I am doing some drum tracks in Cubase, that need to be importable into another DAW not using cubase.

Any ideas?

I think the only way to do that is to solo the track and export each one individually... I got the same dilemma with my acoustic guitar tracks sometimes. Time consuming PITA if you ask me.

Anyone else? :o

yep, that's what I do know, but it's a pain in the ass.......

I think I know what you are trying to do, you want all of the files to start at zero and contain the silence, so you can simply import audio files to a different DAW, like pro tools?

if that is the case then this is your answer.

and when you want to export your tracks, select the tracks you want by ctrl + clicking or shift + clicking on the tracks(not the audio files) you want to export, then going to export selected tracks.

What you could do is open up your project, save it under a different filename, and clip everything from either side of the blue markers, slide whats left to start at zero, then save again under the new filename. Then select all the tracks, and do the export>selected track stuff then. Probably a lot less time consuming than mixing down each track individually. But then, that won't help you move it to another DAW. I guess you could try the OMF thing after all that.

file-->export-->selected tracks

christ, i've been doing the deal where i solo each track and export mixdown...i don't know why i didn't do this before. i just gave it a shot, and it's easier/simpler than all hell.

edit: i just noticed that there's one downside to this feature, even when using the copy option - if you have a bunch of files on a single track(due to overdubs or whatever), each individual file is copied to the destination folder. i was hoping that all of the files would be rendered to a single .wav, but that's not the case. the .xml file that refers to the copied tracks does save all your fades/edits, but it still doesn't help if the files are headed to another DAW.

i wonder if cubase 4 has made any upgrades in this dept....i know that in protools, if you want to combine a bunch of regions on a single track into a single file, all you have to do is select the entire track, consolidate it, and then it write it to a new file.

This is one of the reasons I've moved to Reaper. Render stems = amazing
