When I try to export a project I'm working on, SONAR freezes up, then after a minute I get the "won't respond" error message. It's weird though, because it's only like that for one project. I tried to export an older project just to see if I could, and it worked. I have previously been doing all my recording in 24/96, but This latest one is in 24/48. That's really the only difference I can come up with. I've tried it about a million times, but as soon as I click on Export, the export dialog box goes all white, up comes the hourglass mouse pointer, then nothing. Just won't go. I can't figure this out. Please help me, I neeeeeeed it.

Are you using any "special" effects or DXi's?

No, just a couple of plugins, but this project is waaaay less intensive than my other stuff that exports just fine.

I was thinking about specific plugins... Which are you using?

I think you'll want to update your SONAR to 2.2XL (if you haven't done it yet.) It gives you Plug Ins manager which solves many plugins issue in SONAR. Go to their site...

James... earlier you talked about saving presets with the Plugin Manager. How do you do that?

And the Plugin Manager is a seperate download. It certainly didn't came with my 2.2 update... ;)

fx reverb, on a couple tracks,
Fx compressor on one track,
Timeworks EQ on the main

Thats it. This is a very small project. All these plugins and more are being used in another project that work just fine.
Here's a little more clarification of what happens. After I make my selections in the Export Dialog box, I click Export.
The little hourglass comes up, and the dialog box starts to close out, but it stops. I can see the blue bar from the top of the track view through the dialog box. Then it just sits there. If I click on anything, the box goes all white. Then nothing until I go to click on the close button, at which time I get the "not responding message"
I'm wikked stumped.
:(

Well, I don't remember this, but if so, then I must have download it as separate packages. Check their site again...

I never found this in my experience, but I've heard some has similiar problem. But for sure, if it crash after the progress bar has hit 100%, then your mix WILL be on the folder. Check the path where you mix it... or check your audio folder... most of the times, it's there. :D It won't solve your problem, but at least, you can have your mixes on the way... :)

Yes! James has a good point! (I know it from personal experience)

It doesn't even get started mixing down the audio though. The progress bar never even showa up. The blue bar I was talking about is the top of the track view. Like the one at the top of whatever window you're in. As soon as I click on export it just stops.

But that does give me an idea. What if I were to bounce all my tracks together into one stereo track, and then say copy that track from the folder where all my project audio files are stored? Would that be the same as exporting? I do all my sample rate conversion and dithering with differnt software anyway. What do you think. ( can't try till after "work")
