I really dig the warmth and fullness of your sound. I like your music too.

rick parashar and kelly gray(candlebox producer and queensryche guitarist) mixed it at london bridge. one thing we DIDN'T want was rusty staub mixing it. who has done a lot of mixing on projects in the last few years. metallica nickelback 3 doors down...sonically they all have basically the same mix...same snare samples...same drum mix...same guitar sound...its nauseating...to me at least...not that its bad. it just sounds cookie cutter. 3 doors down chose parashar to produce their new record on basically the strength of our record...he sent them a copy of the final mix and they were like yeah thats the kind of record we wanna have...but they had someone rusty staub mix it...which is where the sound is...so they really weren't thinking...rick told us going in that mixing was not his strong suit. and that he WOULD mix it if we wanted. but it's not his forte. and i was initially outvoted in my belief that he was there from the start of the recording. he knew what we sounded like as a live band. and he had a vibe over 2 months of where we wanted to take the sound. so why hire someone who had no clue where we wanted to go to impose his fleeting vision on our record. and although it took maybe 3 rounds of mixing revisions(the first of which after we almost decided to hire an outside mixer)it all came together nicely. i'm a firm believer in being loyal to someone who is thinking like me.

So, did anyone ever get ahold of the CD or hear it?
Pretty damn good....

...what'd 'ya mean by the "Bah" in reponse to "Good Stuff", by Kryogh?

Nothing to do with that... look at the posting dates.... just kinda bugged that this was a good chance to glean some stuff from a signed artist and it just died, yet the same ole best-mic-under $3.00 threads kick it for months. Just seems like a waste to me.

I actually think that whoever mixes Nickleback does a great job, but I think otherwise about Metallica.

I understand what you're saying about the similar sounds.

How did you pan everything? Why?

sorry I'm not a very experienced home recorder
