Ever have a guitar you didnt play, because it was too perfect?

I agree with domvac- get over the mental block in whatever way you need to, and play that guitar! It is a shame to NOT play a guitar that is as good as you say that one is.

I have never been in that position. Closest was having a guitar that I never bonded with- it was not perfect, bur rather a Westbury lefty on which a previous owner had installed a Schaller tremolo bridge. It just was not "right" to me, and I rarely played it. Sold it at a handsome profit, so it worked out okay.

well perfect is relevant to each of us I guess....maybe I should have said shiny and not played for 10years.

its just a standard american series strat with original hard shell and the manuals, stickers, and the Fender Dealer Catalog for that year having this Hot Rod Red on the cover.
I paid $675 at GC...

expensive is a relevant term too. to me this is a major purchase, but yet a good price for this thing.

difficulty is also my cheapO has a vybe and setup and sound that is every bit as good as this one without the worry of scratching and paying for it...

and Dare i SAY IT here on HR..in the Guitar section!! ?
but ..Who needs more than one guitar? :D

Selling it for profit ....this crossed my mind too...:D

shit!! actually I just counted the days since purchase, and my 30 days is up yesterday, or today might be the last day if they dont count the day of purchase as day 1 of 30!

maybe its here to stay?

If I were a Strat guy, I'd play the EFF outta that! If it's 'your perfect guitar' make it your main gigging/recording guitar. The first one you reach for every time. You could lose everything thing in some random disaster, and regret having never played it.

Worst case scenario, you play the hell out of it, decide it's NOT the perfect axe, and still get $500, at least, out of it, even with a few dings

Even hard shell cases are worth over $100. Most of them, anyway

I put it on CL for a small profit.

After having it I was still going to my cheaper, setup perfect for me guitar....
I compared sound and for what I'm doing or maybe I dont have the "JEDI- Ear" I couldn't hear hardly anything that was a big $500 wow worth...

and even more twisted, instead of playing the shiny new expensive unscratched one....I had a jones to buy the missing case candy so I did and stuck it in the coffin/case too...and it sits there like a shrine. I think this is better meant for someone else's closet..

like Spinal Tap...

[discussing Nigel's Guitar collection]

Nigel Tufnel: Look... still has the old tag on, never even played it.
Marty DiBergi: [points his finger] You've never played...?
Nigel Tufnel: Don't touch it!
Marty DiBergi: We'll I wasn't going to touch it, I was just pointing at it.
Nigel Tufnel: Well... don't point! It can't be played.
Marty DiBergi: Don't point, okay. Can I look at it?
Nigel Tufnel: No. no. That's it, you've seen enough of that one
