I've heard really good things about these, but even better things about the mackies, would i be better off with the events right now or saving for the mackies which are almost twice the price. Right now im using home stereo type speakers, i find my mixes to have a lot of bass, usually more than i want, but not the lower-midrange punch, there's a great balance on the stereo speakers but once converted it sounds so weak.

P.S. any other suggestions for monitors, my mind is not at all set on the events

Thanks a lot,
Eric

Kingston,

The Events are indeed very nice monitors. I used NS-10's for years and years. I swore that they were the monitor for me because I was "used to them" and knew how to get good mixes on them.

When my band was signed to a label, I decided I would do our current album on some "higher end" speakers, so I bought a pair of 20/20's based on some recommendations from people.

Needless to say... the NS-10's haven't been plugged in for almost two years now....
