Hi folks. I'm a total newcomer to this site but not to blogging per say. I'm also unfortunately totally MIDI illiterate. I have manuals to both the ESQ 1 and the Halo but I still can't figure out if my problem is solvable or not.
Anyway- here it is: I have the ESQ MIDI OUT running to the HALO MIDI IN. When I record on the ESQ sequencer, I would like to have each seq track sent to the Halo play a different voice on the Halo, but that's not what happens. Every track recorded on the ESQ sequencer plays whatever voice the Halo is currently set on. So for instance, key events which represent drum sounds will suddenly play piano if I then record a piano track and try to play them both at the same time. I have tried setting the midi channels to different settings... I've tried changing the midi mode of both keyboards (omni, multi, etc) but I still have the same problem. Maybe I haven't hit the right combinations of configurations on the two boards... I don't know. Now, If someone can tell me that the ESQ only transmits on one channel at a time, I can let it go and keep using CEP multitracking as a workaround... but if there is a way to get the ESQ to send to more than one channel at a time, that would be wonderful...
Thanks for any help
