If no EQing was done, I thought that maybe the ES-57s had a little more high end response than an SM-57. Am I the only one who thought this? I thought they sounded really good, maybe just a tad brighter than an SM- 57.


If no one else heard this, then maybe it is just my ears, or the fact that I listened to the clips through headphones at work....

This is possibly true. It would be nice to hear a side by side comparison of the mics though.

i'm not sure if i hear more high end, if anything high mids (which also make the mics percieved output a little higher). but yeah its not a carbon copy freq-for-freq sm57, but its a great deal for a workhorse mic.

as for the pr30.. EVERYTHING. well, i've yet to use it as a room mic for drums, so everything except that. i'll have to invest a lot of money in a LDC before i get one that sounds better than the heil dynamic. seriously.
