Equipment for triggering drums

Also: I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but I had to pad the input when running triggers right into the interface. I don't know if this is common or not, but the output was really hot.

We were using red DDrum pros

That's pretty normal. It's kind of the equivalent of hitting a mic with a stick.
