What do you guys think?

I've seen Cubase SX and I really like that EQ in their console. Wouldn't that be nice to have in Sonar? Yeah, plugins work but it would be nice IMO to have the complete look and feel of a console.

I think it's a good idea. :)

But you know it's actually a plugin for Cubase too, only working for the Cubase Mixer.

So then it would be as CPU intensive as most any other plugin. Damn, I need a 1 terahertz CPU! :D

Oh yeah... And the bright side of not having the "built in" EQ, is that you can use whatever EQ you want... :p

So that brings up the question; if you have an eq in there, but it's not being used (ie: by-passed) is it still sucking up resources?
Wayne

Yes, some resources is used. But not like when it's in full use. :)

SONAR 2 XL has Timeworks EQ bundled in CD. It beats whatever they got in SX, IMHO. And this is the one I used often with my projects :)

;)

Agrees with Jamal........

I agree the stuff with XL is good - particularly when used with Brainspawn's spectrum analyser stuff.

Q.

Yeah, it's good. But the Audiotrack from Waves is brilliant! It's an EQ and compressor in one plugin... :)

i'm partial to the timeworks eq...prolly cuz it has built in spectrum analyzer and it just sounds plain good...if not pushed TOO hard it can air out vocals as well as a track very nicely w/o too many audible artifacts

...And you can see in graphical view how it affects the frequencies as you change the Q factor value... Very Cool tool !!!
