I was wondering if anyone has changed out the electrics and/or pickups on an Epiphone Casino?
If so, I'd appreciate any advice on offer.
Thanks.
Mike.

Well, I know some people

switch out the stock pups for either Gibson P90's or PAF's. I have a 2008 Epiphone ES 175 Reissue...the stock pickups are slightly bright, but I just cut back on the tone a bit and I'm fine. BTW...my ES 175 is a beautiful guitar! I am still very surprised at how nice it looks and plays (I also own a Gibson ES 135, and a Gibson Les Paul Studio and my Epiphone can hang with those guys just fine!).

It is not an easy job, all of the wiring and pots must be removed through the 'F' holes and many can only use the mini size pots due to the small F hole size. I just removed the pots and switch for cleaning on my Sheraton a few years back and that alone was quite a task.

P-90 pickups are really great pickups and have a distinct vintage sound-in my opinion.

Anyway, here is a video that shows how the wiring harness is installed through the F holes and some cool tips to do the job easier.

Didn't we have this one a while back?

Which casino model? New or old? What are you wanting swap out?

Muttley,
It is a new Korean model and I want to swop the stock p90's with other p90's.
Mike
