EMU 1212m and connecting it...HELP!

:confused: Okay, I am a computer person but I know NOTHING about music. I am trying very very hard to set up a mini studio for my boyfriend as a surprise and I can't get this stupid thing to work. I bought a little Yamaha 10 chan board and the EMU 1212m. I put the card in my machine and started looking at hooking everything else up and I am sooooooo completely and utterly lost. I have it hooked up but I am only getting sound out of the left speaker and it is sooooooo low you can barley hear it. :eek:
Is there ANYBODY out here who can Step by Step tell me what plugs into what and where?? I have to have it plugged in wrong. THere are no device or driver conflicts so that is not the problem. Please help, I will be eternally grateful! :p

Thank you very much for your assistance. I actually figured it out about and hour after I posted my question. It had to do with my subwoofer and the cord not being RCA. So I got a new cord...and YEAH!!! Thanks again!
