No worries, I didn't see it as slamming M-Audio at all. My point was exactly what you said in your second paragraph.Dracon said:Hey Christiaan - I wasn't trying to slam M-Audio or any other card. All I was stating was that (based on other people's experience) I decided against the E-MU card, regardless of audio quality.
I didn't mean to imply that M-Audio is inferior, and the guy at Intel is only familiar with consumer soundcards (Creative Labs, and SoundBlaster). He has no knowledge of M-Audio or any other audio recording technology. His advice (and praise of Creative) was based of his experience between consumer soundcards.
All I have to add is: Congrats with your choice.

By the way, I don't think M-Audio has to worry about breaking even on the Delta series. I'm sure they already did. The Deltas have been on the market for quite a few years now. Same technology (saves development costs) for a broad line of interfaces. And I remember that while an Audiophile now costs as low as 88,- in Europe, two years ago they were well over 200,- with the 44 costing 300+ and a 66 400+.
