Hi, I'm a pretty big novice with recording, although not songwriting.

I just bought an Emu 0404 yesterday, and I have been reading the manual. I still cant figure out pretty basic things.

I cant get my headphones to work correctly. I dont have a headphones amp, i know, but I only get sound from the left channel. This is after buying a bunch of adapters, and a stereo Y-Splitter. Same goes for my speakers (that are amplified). Only the left channel comes out.

Then I tried to run a microphone into the left channel analog input, and using Cool Edit Pro 2 tried to record something. Nothing shows up. However when I look at the PatchMix DSP, it shows it to be picking up the sound through the microphone.

I know this is vague, but does anyone have any resources they could send me to that help you out with this card? I am sure I am just an idiot.

Thanks

I don't have this item, but is there software that came with it that does some channel mixing? My breakout box came with some, and you have to go into that software and set it up as a mixer in order to hear stereo out of it. It always seem to default to mono, left channel when I forget. Just a thought.
