You know, we're talking recording techniques here, not your musical tastes. The original poster wanted info on how sonics are achieved, not whether or not you like falsettos or not, OK?
I listen to horrible skanky shit, music-wise, all the time because I like the way it sounds and I'm curious how the hell the sounds were achieved. I gave up buying music, except in rare cases, purely for the music a long time ago. Ever since I got into recording, I look for interesting production, sonics, and vibe, and get my enjoyment and education from that. It seems that, these days, it's difficult to find something that has those things to offer, and be musically interesting as well...oh well...
Hell, I've heard ads on TV lately that are really effective and interesting sonically, and have ideas that, frankly, I've been ripping off incessently for quite some time now. But I'd hardly argue that it's great music, or care, for that matter...
