I am not a drummer, although I do play from time to time in a pinch. That's the reason I'm here. I need real experts to sort this out.
I've been recording acoustic drums in my home studio for years. Unfortunately, I recently sold most of my mics and preamps since I stepped away from recording the past few years. Now I have a small project that I'll most likely need to use samples on. I'm looking for recommendations on a decent, inexpensive electronic drum set, acoustic trigger system or combination. I know very little about any of this.
Here's whats in my room now:
5 piece acoustic kit
ADG 112
4 - 57's
Logic Pro 8 with drum samples
BFD
Firebox - 2 preamps
Voicemaster - 1 preamp
I was looking at the Alesis DM5 kit. I'd like to keep it in that price range.
Any recommendations are welcome.
