electronic drum question...let the battle begin!

Wow, I haven't logged into this sight for a while & the last time I checked there weren't nearly as many replies to my other post, "how good are electronic drums." That post sparked quite an array of oppinions! :)

Well, @ the risk of sparking up another debate... (just kidding, I appreciate all the responses)....I have a question for those who may have had a similar experience...

On my used DTXpress, (that I bought from e-bay), I programed a couple of the user kits to the voices I wanted. The drumset is @ church. A week later, I punched in the number, (the address) of that user kit and the hi-hat seems to fizzle out like the sound of a bad connection... However, I punched in a different # to go to a different kit and the hi-hat is fine... I even set the different kit to use the same 'voice' as the 'bad' kit and it worked fine...

It's like that particular programed kit got corrupted. A week later, the same thing happened on a different user-kit.... Anyone had any experiences like that?

I also have a brand new dtxpressII kit @ home, (one that I bought new so I know it's been taken care of) and I have no problems with it..
 
sounds like a programming error. you will probable have to get that repaired.
 
Perhaps the sounds you are programming are not what the Lord wants to hear...hehe!! Most likely programming error, or maybe it is OOOHHHH NNNOOO

Try doing a factory reset. You might have accidentally messed with the filters or something. Do you have a keyboard in the MIDI chain?
 
I use a Roland v-sessions at church. I have seen it get settings in it that we could not clear out. You could copy new drums or whatever from a patch that was just fine and it would still be bad in the patch you copied it to. The reset to factory is what I had to do to fix it.

After that I bought a card and back the thing up everytime I tweak something in it and I'm sure it is okay. In a church environment there are too many kids or youth that come along during the week and want to play with things.

"Thou shalt not commit adultery against thy wife, unless of course she doesn't find out, then, Party On!"
 
Pull out the small memory battery inside the console. That will definitly reset to factory settings.
