Think I'll record in 24 bit resolution eventually, but I'm not in that much of a hurry to do so as I was before reading your responses to this thread. In other words I won't spend all my savings on preamps and audio interfaces just yet. Instead I will spend it all on new guitar gear. And maybe an audio interface. And maybe a preamp too. Arrgh it's a bitch having money all of a sudden (ex-student in action)
