I just tried the links and they worked for me. I did ditch the original soundclick version and replaced it with the latest version, so you could stream it from there if you wanted. I'm not sure you're missing much though. I have to stay away from covers. At least with originals you guys have no idea what it's supposed to sound like!

Yeah this was a tough one singing-wise. I thought about transposing it to get it right in my wheelhouse, but then I remembered that I don't have a wheelhouse.
I tried it one octave lower which was easier for me, but sounded like the crash test dummies or something - truly horrifying. This was absolutely my limit here. Too many damn words too - really hard to simply catch your breath in between some of those longer lines strung together. Thanks for listening.

some of the earlier tunes are well over a year old mate and the mixes are pretty bad....its tedious but Im sure Ill love it when its done
id love to hear you get really funky with one of these country tunes...I could almost here your style coming through on this...I just dont do country, if I listen I will buy guns and a pick up, so I fight it

i haven't had time to really write a ton and arrange stuff, so i've been doing covers in a couple hours to keep my practice up!

Great song! I love the little lead guitar stuff you did. Very nice. I like the simple drums too...very much in keeping with the 40s and 50s country.
It's a little rough at spots, but I don't think I'd complain if I heard this on an album. I don't mind rough...I do mind boring...this is not boring.
I'm a huge fan of old country (Marty Robbins, Hank Thompson, Hank Williams, and of course Johnny Cash). I wish more people would write story songs again.
This has inspired me I think I'm gonna do a cover of poor old colija.
It's a little rough at spots, but I don't think I'd complain if I heard this on an album. I don't mind rough...I do mind boring...this is not boring.

Crazy! me too. my wife called that indian calija for a long time until i told her that wasn't his name. so now in our house the indian in cheers is calija.
I think it's Hank Williams originally, but the one I have a record of is Hank Thompson.

haha...yeah i do ok with even numbered beats, but suck and 6/8 and 3/4. fortunately i don't like prog stuff, so 5/8 and 7/8 aren't really an issue. But, the simple and low volume drums work really well for this.
