Hey folks. My current set - up.
Digi002R
ART PRO (2)
ART MPA Gold
I need an 8 channel pre with lightpipe for the drums. The ARTs are handling all my Vox/Guit needs with the condensers. Sooo...
Behri ADA8000 (Yeah I know) - Lightpipe standard
SM Audio PR8 MKII - Lightpipe optional
M Audio Octane - Lightpipe standard
Focusrite Octopre - Lightpipe optional
So keeping in mind this will be for drums only, I'm wondering where else to turn. In the above choices, the Octopre is almost out of my budget but I could stretch it. The Octane seems to have gotten some good reviews and I heard from owners about some good and bad points. The $599 is a chunk but I don't need to purchase the optional adat. SM PR8 MKII I know nothing about and haven't really found any reviews except that the ADAT output seems quiet. The price is right however. One of the only "decent" Behri products out there seems to be the ADA8000 and for that price, I could buy a backup if the first one shits the bed. I have to keep this around $600 and I know you can't get too much for $75 a channel. Any other options or opinions on the above would be greatly appreciated.
