Methinks Sellthekids swallows and rubs the perineum just right to get all that stuff for free. IF all you can do Sellthekids is brag about how well connected you are, please let us hear your tunes in the MP3 Mixing Clinic so that we may all hear your greatness, because you must be one hell of a musician to have so many fans/friends who like to buy software , and then give it away before they have taken the wrapper off. I know that I would do that if I had just paid $1800 for one of the Waves packages, just like, you know, pass on good vibes and give it away. Sell crack for a living? Maybe that is where all this disposable income comes from? Or is it just that your daddy is very rich and very stupid to give you whatever you beg for, or is that your sugar daddy?

I dont sell crack, but if i did i could make some money off you guys. I do make a good living, wont brag about my income(if getting free stuff hurts your feelings the amount of money i gross a year would kill you, that being i am only 27. Cost of living in the central valley is cheap, and i have no car payment. Dont you know anybody who gets free stuff from companies like ibaneze, or line 6. No, ever go to local shows in your town, ever talk to big bands when they come to town like Trapt or grade 8. No. Oh well i dont need to impress. I just wanted to know is in worth getting a midi keyboard for the programs i have, and if digital effects were any good compared to my rack gear(the rack gear i downloaded shhh dont say anything). everybody gives you "free"stuff.
You give free stuff to all your friends.
You get free stuff from manufacturers.
You get to talk to big bands when they come to town.
Yet for some reason you have have no clue about these thousands of dollars worth of "free" software works.

hmmm, sellthekids, you seem to like to make yourself out as some wonderful human who everyone loves, and you get great stuff for being a great person, and you give stuff away and karma is wonderful. Well, you are right on all those counts, that is how karma works. BUT, are you familiar with the parable of the people who saw the Buddha on the road as they were travelling? They shot him, because the real Buddha would not display himself and claim to be the Buddha...that is ego and hubris. Hence the saying "gunning for the Buddha", if you meet the Buddha kill him, because he is false. So, to extend that metaphor, if you are so wonderful as you claim to be, well, I ain't buying it for a second, because someone who truly is as wonderful as you claim to be, would also have the humility to not start bragging like you do about how great you are.

Your funny. Acidrock how old are you. I bet old, 40 something. I didnt ask how itworked.I have been recording for 8 years. I asked (since i play live instruments and not computer stuff, and i use rack gear not software) is it worth getting a midi keyboard and also I asked (to see if anyone else out there uses what i use) is any of the software anygood since I have my own opinion but like to hear from other people. I mostly wont post my music, since i have heard other stuff from this website. I am not an 80s throw back or lead guitar showoff. Nor am a speed metal junkie. I am more on the lines of lo-pro 36 crazy fist, taproot,deftones, radiohead kind of guy. So cool, like i said dont believe me. I dont carel. And on bragging I just did that because someone mentioned I was bragging at first and attacked me with there words so i did one better to feed your hate, I bragged to be funny, from where i am sitting. I am by no means a great person but I do try hard to be the best that i can be. One person does make the difference.You lack trust, I bet you are jealous with your girlfriends and boyfriends. You lack trust. What ever. Peace.

i have a fatar/studio logic sl-880 keyboard with weighted keys that is awesome for everything but drum programming (especially congos and other hand percussion instruments).
 
True dat, But i think Mike did it. My glass will be half full, it doesnt take a rich man like Bono or eddie vedder to do something good. If everyone did one small thing to help and not just talk(I'm not buying a kid a distrortion pedal to "guide him on to the right track". Are you insane? If that kid got problems, then I can give him some tips so he can research it himself, words of another member not me) than life might be a little better.
 
Hey, sellthekids, if your bragging that set me off was primarily a tongue-in-cheek response to someone else's bragging that I missed, then accept my apologies if I seemed too harsh with you. It sounded to me as though you were entering this site with a sizeable ego and holier-than-thou attitude, and as this is a place where we genuinely all try to learn together, that rubs many people the wrong way, myself included. And if you genuinely have scored all this software free and legit, kudos to you, but you have to accept that there will be jealousy as the kind of software youtalk about carries a hefty pricetag and many of us save up for months/years to get the tools we need. So, maybe you can take it down a few notches and keep the sarcasm (if that is waht it is) in check, and you will actually discover this is a very friendly forum.

Its not that i cant afford its better to get stuff for free rather than pay the extremly high price tag.DVDs are cheaper and than cost alot more to make (considering the money to make the movie). Okay once again, ACIDROCK. I know how to use what i got I use it all the time. I want to know other peoples opinions and like i said i play live instruments not midi. I play with the midi programs with my computer but not with a keyboard. I wanted to know if anyone has and is it worth it. Or should i just get a real keyboard and piano. Thanks for you off the wall antics. Your name says it all. Acidrock, and the fact you said "Right on". Just like otto on simpsons. Get it. I used to make real good recording on a tascam 8 years ago, and real good ones on a roland vs unit. I think i know how to use windows base copy paste basic kid programs. Also music is about whats sounds good to you. I know what sounds good to me and how to get the sound people are looking for on thier recordings. I thought hippies were nice, anyways. It doesnt bother me if you believe me or if you saw the tooth fairy (two my hits of acid) I didnt ask your opinion on that subject. I said they are to expensive to pay for. Would you pay for them if you had a hook up for legit, legal, and not copied gear. Being software, hardware, or instruments. I wouldnt so i dont. Do you think be bands pay for alot of their stuff, no. It is given to them. I am no big star, but I do help others out and that seems to get noticed.

Okay, I'll walk you through it:

It's not haha-funny. It's just "strange" that a person (in this case you, sellthekids) who can give away free equipment (bass-drums, overdrive-pedals, guitars, etc which is valuable (i.e. is worth money), when that person (that's you again) likes to steal software (because that's what it really is all about).



I'm sorry, but I don't believe that anybody gave you thousands of dollars worth of software. What makes it worse is that you don't even seem to know what the software do. If somebody gave you a Waves Bundle, then you should be aware of the price and what the plugins do. People that don't know this, is in 99.9999% of all cases using pirated software. And pirated software is in fact stolen software...


I don't "hate" people. I just tend to "not like" people who use software that they don't own or have legimit access to. And the reason I don't like them is this: If you're using illegal software, then I have to pay a higher price for the same software. AND I DON'T WANT THAT!

But there's a TWIST! Instead of giving the prize to the winning contestant, the Bad Liar gets it all. But there's another TWIST!!! Bad Liar turns out to be totally nuts and gives all his new equipment to the Urbzu tribe of western Tanzinia because he feels bad they are still playing lo-fi monkey-skin drums (poor bastards)...

To me that shows that you really don't know what effects you have and what they do.

"I find the eqs good" - What's that supposed to mean? What EQs? The ones built into Sonar? The Waves EQs? Timeworks? Or what?

"what about phasers and vocal pitch correctors" - Yes, what about them? Phasers make that "phasing sound" a phaser makes. The Vocal Pitch Correctors do what the title says, it correct the pitch on the vocals.

A person that have these plugins know what they do, and if he didn't, he could always check it out himself...

Okay people I will break it down to you. Since you dont read the entire board.I like the waves 6,8 and 10 band eq. Does anyone else. I play guitar, I think i know what a phaser is. They all sound like shit compared to my Alesis effects processor, but do you use it. Midi keyboards are cheap, so are strings, picks, blank cds, and drums sticks.(somethings you just buy) Anyways what are the best and are they worth even using I find the eqs good and sonic maximizer good but what about phasers and vocal pitch correctors and all that jazz.

Where does it say, what is a phaser, or how do I use my vocal pitch correctors. I have used it, but the bands i record sing in key.
