"...Your funny. Acidrock how old are you. I bet old, 40 something."

Now, THAT'S funny!!!!!!!:D :D :D

With a name like acid rock and to use the term "right on", he has to be close to 45. Long hair around the sides. None in the middle? Tie Dye shirt and birkenstocks screaming "Smoke on the water, duh duh duhhhh, duh duh duhnaa, duh duh duhhhh duh duh! Right on brother"!

Okay sorry about that.

Wow.

I'm obviously right about your age, sellthekids...

The real deal

I think I mentioned my age before, if not I am 27. I have playing guitar for 9 years, drums for three, bass well thats easy. I have been recording for 12 years. As soon as I made up music, I tried to record it.My question rearranged is, I have a crap load of effects software. I know what I like but what do you people use, and I have keyboard progams like moog and stuff. would a midi keyboard worth getting. Has anyone else recorded them. I have messed around with the programs but I am more of a play it live guy.

Holy shit sellthekids, you're pretty stupid for a 27 year old. You've contradicted yourself countless times and your spelling and grammar is worse than an 8 year olds.

Cool, 13,10 40, whatever you like. I am not getting graded am i. Cool you guys still have alot of hate. Kick the dog a couple of more times, or yhell at your old lady. You cant answer a question, no. Cool, I am still happy, I have all the stuff you want. Dont hate.

Dont hate.
I try, but there's this one thing I'll always hate.

I hate stupidity. And that includes you.

sellthekids: you have made an infamous entry to this board! Holy shit, I haven't seen someone slammed like this in the Cakewalk forum before, most of these guys are mellower than Donovan (older too!!). Half the problem is the bragging about all your free stuff, the other half, is that the question itself that you are asking is rather vague.

The question is better turned back at you: so you like guitars, bass and drums. Do you ever use synths or samplers? If not, then there is no point in getting a MIDI keyboard. If you can see a use for it, yeah, it is well worth it, you can get decent controllers for chump change these days ( you probably can get it for free seeing how you get everything else that way). There are shit softsynths, and there are great softsynths. Try them out, see which ones you like and see if they have any place in your music. You have not mentioned the genre of music you play, who you admire, what sounds you like etc etc. How the hell can we answer such an open ended question? You might as well have said "I am a keyboard player, and have used samples for everything so far, I could get any guitar I like for free, which one should I use?" Well, if you are FatBoy Slim, you probably don't need a guitar, if you are NIN then, yeah, you probably want one.

thanks for the answer. I dont just record myself. I record mainly other bands. I thought it might be nice to have the keyboard around for blues or industrail style music. I like pink floyd alot and try to throw off the wall sounds in kind of like brian wilson with animals. I can get a keyboard for 70 bucks so maybe I might try it out, and NIN rocks. Thats another reason why I wanted it. I try to produce the songs I record into something more. So times it works sometimes junk. Thanks again, continue the hate. You seem to have nothing more to do with your time.

Feel the love!

Can this thread fucking die already?

Sellthekids, give it up already. You haven't made a post that has made sense yet. Maybe when you turn 28, and hopfully grow up a bit, you can come back and be welcomed here. As of now, you are getting on my nerves, and apparently most of the other people around here as well.

I can tell by the last couple post that the age of the people responding is 35 to 55. What does an over the hill has been or never will be, who plays 80s rock have to do with there life. I can tell that they dont record other bands just themself. I can tell there is alot of hate (must be they are upset about being alone).Thats okay the music industry feeds on you, with those 80s guitars and home studios. "You to could be a rock star. Impress your friends bore you dates."

Okay I am sorry again, I am funny and a smart ass. Still I have a good heart a wish you the best with your Jackson guitar, and your cowboy boots.

Here is a thought to ponder. How many of you have on or own a pair of white sneakers? I am so funny.

Peace

Sellthekids, what's that over there?

That's you shutting the fuck up!

Mate, that last post was way out of order. And WHO are you to pull these comments out of your arse??

The groups of musicians and musical technicians that we have on this forums board is aged from their early teens through to the very experienced, myself, I'm 24.

I'd like to see your resume that makes your venture into home recording so much loftier than ours.

Look, you've started on a bad foot, and doesn't look like you're intending on correcting it.

Grow up, and come back when you're ready to play with the big boys. There is no room for Ego-mania on this board!

Well, lets see. It took we awhile to poke fun at everyone, but i had to after all the love i received for asking a question. I believe the second or third comment was about daddy paying for my stuff or something in that range. Then called a thief, and then a lair. I still waited a long time to poke fun of the responders.

So i guess it is the members who are off on a bad foot. It is alot easier to follow along then to stand out and speak something new. Everyone followed the person before them. You throw a rock they throw a rock. When will relize sometimes you have to stop throwing rocks.

Anyways, mate. Kick the dingo for me.

Yes, this has written group-therapy all over it. :D

It's just that the members here tend to get suspicious about people saying that somebody "gave" them $3000+++ worth of software...

And you're not asking any question per se. And you are completely ignorant. "I don't use MIDI because I play all instruments live (that would be interesting to see), but I would sure like to have a MIDI controller".

Hmmm... if everyone around here except you can play nice, then it's you who have the problem (and is the problem).
